Alden Chodash vs. Willie Ellis
Round 1: The state championship begun with Ellis moving and me stalking. I land a good jab early on. Ellis is very fast on his feet and is tricky to find. He lands a good flurry (Though blocked) midway through the round. I am too Tentative for the most part of the round but late in the round Ellis staggers after a hard right hand. Round 2: Same fight, stalker vs. mover. I press a little more in the round but he lands a nice combination towards the end of the round that proves to be his best moment of the fight. I really take the fight to him in the closing seconds and may steal the round. Round 3: Ellis looks extremely fatigued in the corner and I know I must take advantage. I come out with everything in the third. He reverts to strictly running at that point making it very frustrating. I pull him to the canvas a few times but no point is deducted. I literally run after the fatigued fighter late and land my left hook. The third was definitely an overwhelming round in my favor convincing me that I may of stole the fight. Decision: Ellis Wins on points |
